EU climate policies and impact on youth in developing countries
In response to the pressing challenges of climate change, global policies are increasingly influencing the futures of communities around the world.
In the framework of the COP29 in Baku, Enabel, in partnership with Generation Climate Europe, and YOUNGO Finance & Markets Group and the Youth Climate Action Coalition Mozambique (YCAC-MOZ) is organising a critical session to discuss how EU climate policies impact low and middle-income countries, with a particular focus on Mozambique.
This session will delve into the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) as a case study, examining the socio-economic and environmental consequences of such policies on young people and marginalised communities in developing nations. Together, we’ll explore how these policies reshape local economies, affect job prospects, and interact with Mozambique’s own efforts in building an inclusive and sustainable carbon market.
Join us for a unique opportunity to engage with young climate advocates, climate finance leaders, and policy experts committed to fostering a collaborative and equitable path forward. Whether you’re a climate enthusiast, a policymaker, or simply interested in global climate policy, this session offers a valuable platform for insightful discussion and transformative ideas.
